What is Tepezza?

Tepezza (teprotumumab) is meant to treat thyroid eye disease (TED). It gained Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in 2020 for this intended purpose. • Hearing loss: Nearly 25% of Tepezza users have reported hearing loss or a noticeable reduction of hearing acuity without deafness. For some, stopping the use of Tepezza gradually restored their hearing acuity.
• Deafness: An inexact but assumedly small percentage of Tepezza users are believed to have suffered temporary or permanent deafness in at least one ear due to side effects of the drug.
